Designers agree that as a whole, you shouldn't think too outside the box when it comes to choosing a front door paint color. "It's best to choose a color that complements the surroundings and reflects your personal style without overwhelming the facade," Gruver says. The whole idea is to choose something that isn't too distracting. "The front door shouldn’t shout louder than the house," adds Bradie Fisher, the founder of Bradie Fisher Interiors in Franklin, Tennessee. "It’s the punctuation, not the headline; let it support the story, not steal the spotlight."
