Flooring Trends Designers Are Convinced Will Rule 2026

In what feels like the blink of an eye, a new year will be upon us—and, with that, new trends to fixate on. When sussing out what's fresh and buzzy in interiors, most people look towards larger moments: the incoming colors of the year, thought-provoking room ideas, and the viral sensations splashed all over our social media feeds.

However, others would argue the most informative trends are hiding where you might least expect them: underfoot. Flooring trends aren't exactly fleeting, and they can't be changed as swiftly as, say, a paint color or upholstery. But, when we do spot a shift in flooring styles, we tend to take notice. Not only can flooring anchor an entire room, but it can single-handedly determine if a space is trendy or tired.
