When most people consider buying a mirror, they probably think about all the vain reasons to do so: A convenient spot to give yourself a once-over before leaving the house, to add some lipstick, or to check their teeth. But the reality? There's often more to a mirror than meets the eyes.

"Whether you're expanding a small hallway, reflecting something beautiful across the room, or simply adding a sculptural element to the wall, a well-placed mirror can be both functional and visually transformative," explains Sara Swabb, founder and creative director of Storie Collective in Washington, D.C. "They can add light, depth, and dimension to a space in a way that few other objects can."

The good news is that you don't have to look too far—or spend too much money—on a great mirror to beautify your room. It just so happens that Amazon has a bunch of options to choose from. Nicknamed the Everything Store, the e-tailer sells virtually everything you can think of: traveler steamers, gardening essentials, bedding sets, and, yes, mirrors. "It can be especially helpful when you need something in a pinch or are working with a more modest budget, but still want the look of something refined and timeless," Swabb adds. While many designers find mirrors at their favorite antique or vintage store, Swabb says Amazon can provide an excellent value—as long as you know what to look for.

Truthfully, with so many options to sift through, finding a great mirror on Amazon is easier said than done.
